Note: With immediate effect, Submission of Russian visa applications by third party shall only be accepted from legal representatives of the passport holders on producing a notarized letter of attorney.
The authorization letter has to be provided at the time of document submission to VFS. If failed to provide at the time of submission, courier pass-back to the confirmed address of the passport holder shall be applicable.
Any commercial / non-commercial representative of the passport holder, including travel agents, shall be considered a third party and shall have to produce the authority letter.
Authority letter may be one for all the members of one family, if signed by all the adult family members, or for any group going from the same location / city, if signed by each member of the group.
If a group includes people from different cities, an individual authority letter shall be required for each passport.
Exemptions:
Next of kin of the passport holder, such as parents, children, spouses, real siblings;
Non-commercial organizations representing groups consisting of the members of the said organizations and their family members may provide one single letter of authority with a list of all the passports on the letter head of the organization, signed by one concerned representative of the organization.
Please note that authority letter should contain:
* Name and passport number of the applicant.
* Authorization for submission and collection of passport and for conveying all the information required for processing of Russia visa on behalf of the passport holder.
* Name and ID proof number of the authorized person.
* Date and signature of the applicant.
* At the time of document submission the authorized person should be able to produce original of the ID proof mentioned in the letter of attorney.
